We, the members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) USA Chapter, congratulate Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on her nomination as the running mate to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.

This is the second time Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman has been entrusted with this significant role by our flagbearer, H.E John Dramani Mahama and the NDC which demonstrates the level of confidence placed in the renowned Professor and Patriot. NDC USA embraces and unequivocally expresses support for this decision which is premised on the impeccable leadership track of Prof. Naana Jane.

Her enviable record as a former Vice Chancellor and  Minister of Education, among others; her vision,  wealth of experience, intellect and commitment to public service make her a role model for not only Ghanaian women, but also women of Africa and the world. Her nomination will encourage girls and women in Ghana and the world to work hard for great achievements and for socio-economic development. All these underscore the value she brings to the Ticket.

Prof. Jane’s renomination, nonetheless, demonstrates H.E John Mahama’s decisiveness in decision (Choice)-making as a leader, but more importantly, depicts his resolve to empower women and encourage their political participation and nation-building. We, the NDC USA, equally congratulate H.E JDM on his sound judgement and join all NDC members and Ghanaians, the world over, in celebrating this nomination which will inject new spirit and momentum into the campaign; and we unreservedly assure the duo of our unflinching support in helping to ensure that the NDC wins power in 2024 to pursue ‘the Ghana we want’ agenda which Ghanaians are desperately yearning for.

Once again, congratulations to Prof. Naana Opoku Agyeman on her nomination. The NDC USA hopes and believes strongly that her leadership will help bring about positive change and transformation to Mother Ghana.

Thomas Elleamo Yankey
Secretary,
NDC USA
